Atlanta Blues Society News:
The Atlanta Blues Society is an all volunteer member organization dedicated to the Education and preservation of the uniquely American art form known traditionally as the blues. We are comprised of a rich mixture of culturally diverse people brought together through our common appreciation of the heritage and history of the Blues.
The ABS was incorporated as a Georgia Corporation and was granted 501 (c) 3 status by the Internal Revenue Service on November 29, 2001. This status allows all donations to the ABS to be tax deductible. Sound boring? It's not. It means the ABS can receive grants and corporate sponsorship which leads to bigger and better events and increased community exposure.
The Atlanta Blues Society has a great web site with all the local blues news, band lists, club lists, blues radio shows, Atlanta area blues jams, upcoming show dates - everything! They also have an online Atlanta blues shopping mall featuring Atlanta Blues Society merchandise (like shirts, hats, koozies, etc), and even CD's from your favorite Atlanta bands (including the Breeze Kings). The ABS hosts a monthly meeting for members, usually (but not always) on the third Sunday of each month. Meetings typically go from 3pm to 6pm and feature live music and a members blues jam, so don't miss it. Check out the ABS web site at  www.atlantabluessociety.org  for more details and directions.
