The Breeze Kings logged 106 gigs in 1998, 162 in 1999 and they'll probably approach 200 this year, including a regular gig (the band's third) Thursdays at Northside Tavern. The band also made its first foray beyond the Southeast with gigs in New Jersey. Why the success? Just plain, old-fashioned hard work. Onstage, these guys are serious about being an entertaining blues band. Offstage, bandleader Carlos Capote is just as committed to advancing the band to the next level.
